  • The Role of Erythropoietin in the Human Bone Marrow Hematopoiesis
  • Regulation of the human Caveolin 1 Expression by Estrogen Receptor-alpha.
  • Identification and Characterization of Nuclear Localization Sequences in eNOS.
  • Identification and Characterization Non-Coding RNA Oncogene Ginir
  • Endogenously circulating chromatin fragments as mutagens and carcinogens
  • Infusion of Autologous Mesenchymel Stem Cells Rendered into an Artificial Bone Marrow Environment (ABME) in vitro, during Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.

Professional Accomplishments:

  • Discovered that Human Milk Samples contain RNAse that is capable of providing protection against infection by  RNA viruses. ( 1976) Collaboration with : Dr M.R.Das and others.
  • Discovered the first Non-Viral Oncogene activation in Mammals ( 1982). The same was christened as  Her2/Neu oncogene subsequently. Collaboration with Dr R.A. Weinberg and others.
  • Developed a composition to create an Artificial Bone Marrow Micro Environment in vitro  ( 2005-2006) ( Collaboration with Dr V.P. Kale). This invention has been patented and will undergo clinical trials in near future.
  • Developed two independent methods to generate human pluripotent stem cells from somatic cells without having to introduce   exogenous Yamanaka factors (Collaboration with Dr. V.P. Kale (for method 1;) and  with Dr Anjali Shiras  ( for method 2).
