Dipanwita Deb
Assistant Professor
"Dr. Dipanwita Deb has obtained her Ph.D. in the research area of Algal Biotechnology from the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. After qualifying GATE, she completed her M. Tech. from the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, IIT Kharagpur and joined the Ph.D. program (JRF & SRF, IIT Kharagpur, MHRD, Govt. of India). Dr. Deb also received the International Travel Grant from MHRD, India, for attending and presenting a part of her research work at the European Congress on Biotechnology (ECB), held at Geneva, Switzerland in July 2018. She has quality publications in SCI journals such as Scientific Reports- Nature, Journal of Cleaner Production, Renewable Energy, Biomass and Bioenergy, and Letters in Applied Microbiology. Additionally, Dr. Deb also has B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees in Microbiology from University of North Bengal.
Apart from her expertise in the field of Algal Biotechnology, she has also worked in the areas such as- Microbiology of vermicomposting, Environmental Biotechnology, and Quorum sensing. Dr. Deb is extremely passionate about teaching and has tutored both M. Sc. as well as B.Tech and M.Tech students during her previous tenures in the institutes such as Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) and Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR). She strongly believes that teaching and research should go parallel in the quest for learning more."
