Dr. Priti Sundar Mohanty
Professor
Dr. Priti S. Mohanty is a Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and adjunct faculty at School of Biotechnology, KIIT Deemed to be University, with expertise in soft matter science, colloids, polymers, and nanomaterials. His research focuses on soft and responsive hybrid materials for smart catalysis, efficient adsorption, and chemical sensing. He also investigates the structure and interactions of stimuli-responsive microgel colloids and their applications in photonic crystals. His experimental expertise includes the design and fabrication of various types of colloids and nanomaterials, as well as scattering and microscopy techniques.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
MSc Physics and M.Phil Physics from University of Hyderabad and, PhD Physics (Soft Matter Specialisation), IGCAR Kalpakkam (University of Madras)
COURSE EXPERTISE
Soft Matter and Colloidal Systems, Responsive and Smart Polymeric-Nanomaterials, Self-assembly. Scattering, Spectroscopy and Microscopy techniques.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests are centered on Soft Matter Science, particularly colloidal systems, stimuli-responsive polymeric materials, and nanomaterials. We aim to investigate their physicochemical properties and interfacial interactions, with an emphasis on designing functional materials for emerging technologies, particularly in environmental remediation and sustainable systems.
Administrative Responsibilities
Faculty-in-charge for the international students, MCC/SLMC Committee Members, Project coordinator for VIII semester (Biotech) and Coordinator for COIR-CSMBE
