Dr. Mahapatra has more than 12 years of experience in teaching at the post graduate and undergraduate level. He has completed his PhD in Computer-Aided Drug Design and his area of research is comparative genomics, molecular modeling and chemo-informatics.

  • SERB International Research Experience (SIRE) fellowship by DST, Govt. of
    India.
  • Best oral presentation award in the national seminar held on the occasion of 22 nd , 19 th Odisha Bigyan ‘O’ Paribesh Congress (2021 & 2017) and 16 th Odisha Bigyan Congress (2013).
  • Adjudged as ‘A’ grade employee and letter for appreciation based on the
    performance by the reviewing authority of KIIT Deemed to be University,
    Bhubaneswar (An Institute of Eminence recognised by UGC, New Delhi).
  • Awarded travel grant (DBT/CTEP/02/201100924) from Department of
    Biotechnology, Government of India to participate in InCOB-2011 from 30 th Nov-2 nd
    Dec, 2011 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    machine learning model for prediction of diabetic nephropathy using renal
    biomarkers and clinical data” sanctioned by ICMR, Govt. of India under Ad-hoc
    scheme from 2023-2026.
  • Project titled “Development of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) registry and
    AI (Artificial Intelligence) model for prediction of mortality in liver cirrhosis using
    hepatic biomarkers and clinical data” sanctioned by ANRF, Govt. of India under
    CRG scheme from 2023-2026.
  • Project tilled as “A deep learning based genome mining strategy for identification of biosynthetic/chemotherapeutic gene clusters in the marine actinobacteria Salinispora and its validation study through data analytic approach” recommended by MoES, Govt. of India, under the Deep Ocean Mission from 2025-2027.
