Prabhat Kumar Rout began his career in education as a Mathematics faculty in Odisha +2 Science College, Bhubaneswar in 2005. Before joining the KIIT University in 2008, he was in Royal School of Management and Technology, where he used to teach Biostatistics to M.Sc. students. He holds a Bachelors degree of Mathematics from Utkal University, Master degree of Mathematics from Sambalpur University and Ph.D. degree from KIIT University. He is teaching Mathematics to M.Tech. students and Biostatistics to M.Sc. students. Teaching is his passion. The methodology that he is using in the classroom is highly popular among the students. He is also interested in student related activities and social services. He is the NSS programme officer from School of Biotechnology, KIIT University. With NSS volunteers, he used to go to their adopted village in a regular basis (specially Saturdays and Sundays) with the aim to make that village an ideal village. In January, 2020 he attended the 'National Youth Festival', Lucknow with 60 NSS volunteers from all parts Odisha as Team Leader. Under the programme 'Education for all', he is organizing awareness programmes to aware the people of Kendrapara District over the value of education.
